Green Protein Smoothie (base)

Power Boost Toppings (optional)

Method

Green Protein Smoothie (base)

  1. 1

    Prep

Measure and assemble all ingredients. If your banana isn't frozen, use a fresh banana and add 4 ice cubes to the blender for a chilled, thicker texture.

  2. 2

    Blend greens first

Add the almond milk and fresh spinach to the blender first. Blend on medium-high for 15–20 seconds until the spinach is fully broken down and the liquid looks uniformly green. This avoids leafy chunks.

  3. 3

    Add remaining base ingredients

Add the frozen banana, frozen mixed berries, Greek yogurt, protein powder, rolled oats, ground flaxseed, chia seeds, and lemon juice to the blended greens. If you want added sweetness, add honey or maple syrup now.

  4. 4

    Final blend

Blend on high for 30–60 seconds, stopping and scraping down the sides once if necessary, until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick to blend, add 2–4 tablespoons of additional almond milk. If too thin, add 1–2 more ice cubes or a few more frozen berries and blend again.

  5. 5

    Taste and adjust

Taste the smoothie and adjust: more lemon for brightness, more honey/maple for sweetness, or extra protein powder for creaminess/power. Blend briefly to incorporate any adjustments.

  6. 6

    Serve

Pour into two glasses (or one large bottle) and proceed to topping if desired.

Power Boost Toppings (optional)

  1. 7

Sprinkle hemp seeds, sliced almonds, fresh berries and cacao nibs over the smoothie. These add texture, healthy fats and extra protein — great for a post-workout boost or hearty breakfast.

  2. 8

If packing for later: leave toppings separate and add just before drinking to keep texture fresh. Transfer smoothie to a sealed bottle and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
