Prepare Coffee Mixture

Brew Espresso
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee. Allow it to cool slightly, and then stir in 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until dissolved. Set aside.
Prepare Mascarpone Layer

Whisk Egg Yolks and Sugar
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

Incorporate Mascarpone
Add 16 oz of mascarpone cheese to the egg yolk mixture and mix until smooth and well combined.

Whip Heavy Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

Fold Whipped Cream
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.
Assemble Tiramisu

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer Cookies and Cream
In a 9x9 inch dish, arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone layer over the cookies.

Repeat Layers
Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone. Follow with the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
Serve Tiramisu

Dust with Cocoa and Garnish
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
