Clams and Topping
Method
Preparation and Baking
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2
Prepare the Clams
In a large bowl, scrub the fresh clams under cold running water to remove any dirt and sand. Discard any clams that are open and do not close when tapped.
- 3
Make the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, olive oil, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
- 4
Stuff the Clams
Place the cleaned clams on a baking sheet. Spoon the breadcrumb mixture generously onto each clam, pressing it down slightly to adhere.
- 5
Bake the Clams
Bake the clams in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the clams have opened up. Discard any clams that remain closed after baking.
- 6
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
