Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

Ensure the shrimp are peeled and deveined. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves.

  3. 3

    Juice the Lemon

Cut the lemon in half and juice it, discarding any seeds.

  4. 4

    Chop the Parsley

Rinse the fresh parsley, dry it, and chop it finely.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  2. 6

    Sauté the Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 7

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

  4. 8

    Add Butter and Lemon Juice

Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the butter and lemon juice to the skillet, stirring to coat the shrimp in the mixture. Cook for an additional minute until the butter is melted.

  5. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the chopped parsley. Serve immediately, enjoying the scampi with crusty bread or over pasta if desired.
