Pizza Dough

Method

Making the Pizza Dough

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough begins to form.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 6

    Prepare the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  3. 7

    Spread the Sauce

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the red pizza sauce evenly over the base.

  4. 8

    Add Cheese and Toppings

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Then, arrange the pepperoni slices and sliced button mushrooms on top.

  5. 9

    Bake the Pizza

Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 10

    Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice it up, and serve hot.
