Flatbread

Method

Prepare the Flatbread

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, mix together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

  2. 2

    Add Wet Ingredients

Add olive oil and water to the bowl, then mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 2 minutes until smooth.

  4. 4

    Rest Dough

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.

Make the Meatballs

  1. 5

    Mix Meatball Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and chopped basil.

  2. 6

    Shape Meatballs

Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

  3. 7

    Bake Meatballs

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.

Assemble the Flatbread

  1. 8

    Roll Out Flatbread

Roll out the rested dough into a thin flatbread shape (about 1/4 inch thick).

  2. 9

    Cook Flatbread

Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the flatbread for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  3. 10

    Add Red Sauce

Spread red sauce evenly over the cooked flatbread.

  4. 11

    Add Meatballs and Cheese

Top with baked meatballs and crumble goat cheese over the top.

  5. 12

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
