Garlic Bread
Pomodoro Sauce
Method
Garlic Bread
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2
Prepare the Garlic Butter
In a medium bowl, soften the unsalted butter at room temperature. Mince the fresh garlic cloves and chop the fresh parsley finely. Add minced garlic, parsley, salt, and black pepper to the butter and mix until well combined.
- 3
Slice the Baguette
Slice the French baguette in half lengthwise, creating two long halves.
- 4
- 5
Bake the Bread
Place the baguette halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden and crispy.
- 6
Slice and Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, slice into pieces, and serve warm.
Pomodoro Sauce
- 7
Sauté Onion and Garlic
In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced medium onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the pan, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- 8
Add Tomatoes
Pour in the canned whole tomatoes, crushing them with a spoon to break them up. Stir in salt and black pepper.
- 9
Simmer the Sauce
Bring the sauce to a simmer, reduce the heat to low, and let it cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 10
Finish with Basil
Chop the fresh basil and add it to the sauce, stirring well. Cook for an additional 5 minutes before removing from heat.
- 11
Serve
Serve the pomodoro sauce warm on the side with the garlic bread.
