Garlic Bread

Method

Garlic Bread

  1. 1

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a medium bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the French baguette in half lengthwise to create two long pieces.

  3. 3

    Apply Garlic Butter

Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the baguette.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the garlic buttered baguette halves.

  5. 5

    Bake the Garlic Bread

Place the baguette halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges are golden brown.

Pomodoro Sauce

  1. 6

    Sauté Onions

In a saucepan over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the diced onion and sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onions are translucent.

  2. 7

    Add Garlic

Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes, being careful not to burn the garlic.

  3. 8

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

  4. 9

    Simmer the Sauce

Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

  5. 10

    Finish with Basil

Remove the sauce from the heat and stir in the chopped fresh basil before serving.
