Method
Prepare the Topping

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

Add Basil and Garlic
Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add both to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

Season the Mixture
Drizzle in the olive oil and mix well. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Set aside to let the flavors meld.
Prepare the Bread

Slice the Bread
Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2-inch thick slices.

Toast the Bread
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
Assemble the Bruschetta

Top the Toasted Bread
Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice.

Garnish with Olives
Slice the black olives and place one or two slices on each bruschetta.

Halve the fresh cherry tomatoes and arrange them on a plate as a side garnish.
