Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Chop the Vegetables

Finely chop the carrots, celery, and onion. Mince the garlic.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrots, and celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  2. 3

    Add Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 4

    Brown the Beef

Increase the heat to medium-high, add the ground beef, and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon (about 8-10 minutes).

  4. 5

    Add Tomato Sauce and Seasonings

Stir in the tomato sauce, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Mix well to combine.

  5. 6

    Simmer

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld.

  6. 7

    Serve

Serve the Bolognese sauce over your favorite pasta, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
