Method
Preparation
- 1
Preparing the Beef
Cut the beef into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick. This helps the meat cook evenly and absorb the marinade.
- 2
Making the Marinade
In a large bowl, combine the ground cayenne pepper, paprika, ground ginger, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- 3
Marinating the Beef
Add the beef strips to the spice mixture, ensuring that each piece is well-coated. Drizzle with vegetable oil and mix again. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Cooking
- 4
Preparing the Skewers
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes to prevent burning on the grill.
- 5
Skewering the Meat
Thread the marinated beef strips onto the skewers, packing them closely together for even cooking.
- 6
Grilling the Suya
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the meat is browned and cooked through.
