Method

Gnocchi Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the topfen, mashed potato, flour, egg, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.

  2. 2

    Form Gnocchi

On a floured surface, divide the dough into small portions. Roll each portion into a long rope, about 1 cm thick. Cut into 2 cm pieces to form the gnocchi.

  3. 3

    Cook Gnocchi

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully drop the gnocchi into the boiling water and cook until they float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.

Mushroom Medley Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté Mushrooms

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Add Mushrooms

Add the mixed mushrooms to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are golden brown.

  3. 6

    Add Sage

Stir in the fresh sage leaves and cook for an additional 2 minutes until the sage is fragrant.

Assembly and Serving

  1. 7

    Combine Gnocchi and Mushrooms

Gently add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet with the mushroom medley. Toss to combine and heat through.

  2. 8

    Serve

Plate the gnocchi and mushroom medley. Top with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
