Method

For Fried Brie

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brie

Cut the Brie cheese into wedges or slices, about 1 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Set up a Breading Station

Place the flour in one shallow dish, beat the egg in a second shallow dish, and put the breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.

  3. 3

    Bread the Brie

Dredge each piece of Brie in flour, then dip in the beaten egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs, ensuring an even coating.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Brie

Carefully place the breaded Brie pieces into the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried Brie from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

For Apple Compote

  1. 7

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and water.

  2. 8

    Cook the Compote

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the mixture has thickened.

  3. 9

    Cool and Serve

Remove from heat and let the compote cool slightly before serving.

For Crispy Parsley

  1. 10

    Heat the Oil

In a small saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

  2. 11

    Fry the Parsley

Once the oil is hot, add the fresh parsley leaves in small batches and fry for 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until crispy.

  3. 12

    Drain and Cool

Remove the crispy parsley with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
