Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for medium doneness.

Burger Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato and onion into thin rounds.

  2. 6

    Toast the Buns (Optional)

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked beef patty. Top with tomato slices, onion rings, ketchup, and mustard. Cover with the top half of the bun.

  4. 8

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately while hot with your favorite side dishes.
