Method

Preparing the Wagyu Beef

  1. 1

    Season the Steaks

Rub the Wagyu beef steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to allow the seasonings to penetrate the meat.

  2. 2

    Cooking the Steaks

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, place the steaks in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is achieved. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Preparing the Sides

  1. 3

    Cooking the Asparagus

Trim the woody ends off the asparagus. In a separate skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute, then add the asparagus. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the asparagus is tender but still crisp.

Serving

  1. 4

    Wine Pairing

Serve the Wagyu steaks alongside the sautéed asparagus. Open a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and let it breathe for at least 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy the perfectly paired meal.
