Preparation Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy. Add olive oil, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. 3

    Shape the Knots

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 6-8 inches long and tie it into a knot. Place on a greased baking sheet.

  4. 4

    Bake the Knots

Let the knots rise again for about 20 minutes. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in chopped parsley and salt.

  6. 6

    Finish and Serve

Remove the knots from the oven and brush them generously with garlic butter. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
