Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare glass

If you prefer your drink cold, chill the glass by filling it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail. Set aside. Alternatively, leave it at room temperature and add fresh ice when serving.

2

Combine ingredients

Add 2 oz Tito's Handmade Vodka, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup to a cocktail shaker filled about two-thirds with ice.

3

Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels very cold and slightly frosted. This chills and dilutes the cocktail to the proper balance.

4

Strain and serve

Discard the ice water from the chilled glass if you used it. Fill the glass with fresh ice (one large cube or several smaller cubes). Strain the contents of the shaker into the glass over the ice.

5

Optional top and garnish

If you like a lighter, fizzy variation, top with about 1 oz club soda and gently stir once with a bar spoon to combine. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim.

6

Serve immediately. Adjust sweetness by increasing or decreasing the simple syrup to taste; increase lime for more tartness or add club soda for a longer, lower-ABV drink.

Tools

7

Use the jigger to measure spirits and juices accurately. Use a strainer when pouring from the shaker to keep the ice shards out of the finished cocktail. A bar spoon is useful for gently stirring if you top the drink with club soda.
