Classic Mimosa

Method

Classic Mimosa

1

Chill

Ensure both the sparkling wine and orange juice are well chilled (about 4–8°C / 39–46°F). If preparing in a pitcher, optionally add 1/2 cup ice to the pitcher to chill it, then discard ice before pouring to avoid diluting the drink.

2

Ratio & Pour

Use a 1:1 ratio of sparkling wine to orange juice for a classic mimosa. For each serving (~1/2 cup sparkling wine + 1/2 cup orange juice), pour the orange juice into the bottom of a flute or coupe first, then gently pour the chilled sparkling wine down the side of the glass to preserve bubbles.

3

Garnish & Serve

Garnish with an orange slice or twist on the rim. Serve immediately while effervescent.

Variations & Optional Add-ins

4

Orange liqueur: For a boozier, more aromatic mimosa, add 2 tsp orange liqueur to each glass before adding orange juice and sparkling wine.

5

Fruit-forward: Drop 2–3 fresh berries into each glass before pouring the liquids for color and subtle flavor infusion.

6

Sweeter: If your oranges are tart, add up to 1 tsp simple syrup per glass and stir gently before topping with sparkling wine.

7

Herbal garnish: Clap mint leaves between your palms to release aroma and float them on top as a refreshing garnish.
