Method

Brown Butter Infusion

  1. 1

    Prepare Brown Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Continue cooking until the butter turns a golden brown color and develops a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Infuse with Basil

Add fresh basil leaves to the warm brown butter and let it steep for 10 minutes. Strain the butter to remove the basil leaves and set aside.

Coffee Whiskey Infusion

  1. 3

    Brew Coffee

In a French press or coffee maker, combine coffee beans with hot water. Let steep for 4-5 minutes, then strain to collect the coffee infusion.

  2. 4

    Mix with Whiskey

In a shaker, combine the brewed coffee with Heavens Door Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey. Add the demerara sugar and tobacco bitters, stirring well to combine.

Final Assembly

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in the brown butter infusion and the whiskey coffee mixture. Stir gently to chill and combine flavors.

  2. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Strain the mixture into a chilled glass. Add a few dashes of lemon and orange oil on top as a garnish, and serve immediately.
