Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ahi Tuna
Start with fresh Ahi tuna steaks. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Apply Dry Rub or Truffle Oil
For Cajun option, rub the tuna steaks with olive oil, then coat with Cajun spice mix, salt, and pepper. For truffle option, drizzle truffle oil over the steaks and sprinkle with grated Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
Cooking
- 3
Sear the Tuna
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little olive oil if using the Cajun rub. Sear the tuna steaks for about 1-2 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if desired.
- 4
Rest the Tuna
Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a couple of minutes before slicing.
- 5
Serve
Slice the tuna steaks against the grain and serve immediately, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
