Burger Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty approximately 1 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Chill the Patties

Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to help them hold their shape while cooking.

Cook the Burger Patties

  1. 4

    Heat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 5

    Cook the Patties

Once hot, place the patties on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side until browned. Flip the patties.

  3. 6

    Add Cheese

After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature of the patty reaches 70°C (160°F).

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, and any additional toppings like pickles, ketchup, and mustard.

  3. 9

    Finish the Burger

Cover with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
