Chicken Fingers

Belgian Waffles

Maple Syrup & Spicy Honey Butter

Method

Chicken Fingers

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading

In another bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour and cornstarch. Take the marinated chicken out of the refrigerator and let it drain slightly.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour-cornstarch mixture, shaking off any excess. Place on a wire rack and let sit for 10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Fry the Chicken

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the chicken pieces in batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

Belgian Waffles

  1. 5

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

  2. 6

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.

  3. 7

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  4. 8

    Cook the Waffles

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown, usually about 4-5 minutes.

Maple Syrup & Spicy Honey Butter

  1. 9

    Make Spicy Honey Butter

In a small bowl, beat the softened butter with honey, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Set aside.

  2. 10

    Heat Maple Syrup

In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the maple syrup until heated through. Do not boil.
