Method
Crust Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Crust
In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated with butter.
- 2
Form the Crust
Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan and slightly up the sides to form a crust. Use a flat-bottomed measuring cup to compress the crumbs tightly.
- 3
Pre-bake the Crust
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool while preparing the filling.
Filling Preparation
- 4
Prepare the Filling
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and mix until well combined.
- 5
Add Remaining Ingredients
Add the sour cream, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- 6
Pour Filling into Crust
Pour the cheesecake filling into the pre-baked graham cracker crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- 7
Bake the Cheesecake
Bake in the preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 55-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- 8
Cool and Chill
Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside for 1 hour to cool gradually. Remove from the oven and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, before serving.
