Waffle Preparation

Prepare the Waffle Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.

Mix Batter
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are fine.

Preheat Waffle Iron
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Cook the Waffles
Pour the appropriate amount of batter onto the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown, approximately 5 minutes. Repeat with remaining batter.

Serve the waffles topped with toasted pecans and drizzled with maple syrup.
Bananas Foster

Make the Bananas Foster
In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add brown sugar and stir until dissolved. Add the sliced bananas and cook for 2-3 minutes, gently stirring.

Add Rum
Remove the skillet from heat and carefully add the rum. Return to heat and cook for an additional minute until slightly thickened.

Serve the waffles topped with the bananas foster mixture.

Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
