Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

Make honey syrup (if not prepared)

Combine equal parts honey and hot water (for these quantities: 3 tsp honey and 3 tsp hot water) in a small jar or cup. Stir until the honey fully dissolves and the mixture is homogeneous. Let cool briefly if still warm.

  2. 2

Add 2 fl oz Tanqueray Gin, 3 tsp fresh lemon juice and 3 tsp honey syrup into a cocktail shaker.

  3. 3

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup).

  4. 4

Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the exterior of the shaker is very cold and a good froth has formed from the citrus and honey.

  5. 5

Double-strain (optional) the cocktail into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass to remove small ice shards and any pulp. Alternatively, strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube if preferred.

  6. 6

Garnish with a lemon twist or a thin lemon wheel. Express the lemon twist over the drink to release oils, then drop it in (or place the wheel on the rim).

  7. 7

    Serve immediately.
