Crab Cakes

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Crab Cakes

In a large bowl, combine crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, green onions, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Cakes

Shape the mixture into patties (about 8-10 depending on size) and place them on a tray. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

  3. 3

    Cook the Crab Cakes

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Cook the crab cakes for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and heated through. Remove and set aside.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Horseradish Sauce

In a bowl, mix together prepared horseradish, sour cream, lemon juice, and salt to taste.

  5. 5

    Make the Red Pepper Coulis

In a blender or food processor, combine roasted red peppers, olive oil, garlic, balsamic vinegar, and salt. Blend until smooth.

  6. 6

    Serve

Plate the crab cakes drizzled with the red pepper coulis and serve with the horseradish sauce on the side.
