Preparation Instructions
1. Juicing the Lemons
Roll the lemons on the countertop to release the juice, then cut them in half and juice them until you have 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.
2. Making the Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.
3. Mixing the Lemonade
In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, the cooled simple syrup, and 3 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine.
4. Adding Fruit Flavor (optional)
If using fresh fruit for flavor, muddle the fruit in the bottom of the pitcher before adding the lemonade mixture. Stir to combine.
5. Chilling and Serving
Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve over ice and garnish with slices of lemon or additional fruit if desired.
