Method

Cook the Tortellini

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook Tortellini

Add the cheese tortellini to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 3-5 minutes, or until they float to the top.

  3. 3

    Drain

Once cooked, drain the tortellini in a colander and set aside.

Prepare the Alfredo Sauce

  1. 4

    Melt Butter

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.

  2. 5

    Add Garlic

Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant, but not browned.

  3. 6

    Add Cream

Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

  4. 7

    Incorporate Cheese

Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.

  5. 8

    Season Sauce

Season the sauce with salt, black pepper, and grated nutmeg, adjusting to taste.

Combine and Serve

  1. 9

    Combine Tortellini and Sauce
