Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruits

Wash all the fruits thoroughly. Slice the orange, lemon, lime, and apple into thin wedges. If using strawberries, hull and slice them; leave blueberries and raspberries whole.

  2. 2

    Mix the Base

In a large pitcher, add the sliced fruits along with any whole berries. Pour in the red wine and orange juice. Stir gently to combine.

  3. 3

    Add the Spirits

Pour in the brandy and mix well. This will enhance the flavor of the sangria.

  4. 4

    Sweeten the Sangria

Add the sugar to the mixture. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  5. 5

    Chill

Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.

Serving

  1. 6

    Final Touch

Before serving, add the club soda or lemon-lime soda to the pitcher for a refreshing fizz.

  2. 7

    Garnish

If desired, add fresh mint leaves for a fragrant touch.

  3. 8

    Serve

Pour the sangria into glasses, making sure to include some fruit pieces in each glass. Enjoy chilled!
