Method
Fries
- 1
Prepare Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into even-sized sticks to ensure uniform cooking.
- 2
Fry Potatoes
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the potato sticks in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch.
- 3
Season Fries
Remove the fries from the oil and drain them on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while they are still hot and set aside.
Bolognese Sauce
- 4
- 5
Brown the Meat
Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes.
- 6
Add Tomato Paste and Wine
Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes. Then pour in the red wine and let it simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the alcohol to evaporate.
- 7
Finish Sauce
Add the crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and let it simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Assembly
- 8
Assemble the Dish
On a large serving platter, layer the crispy fries. Spoon the bolognese sauce generously over the fries.
- 9
Add Toppings
Dollop the stracciatella cheese on top of the bolognese-covered fries. Sprinkle chopped fresh basil over the top for garnish.
