Directions
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside, reserving about 1 cup of the pasta water.
- 2
Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to brown it.
- 3
Add Heavy Cream
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Allow it to cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently until slightly thickened.
- 4
Incorporate Parmesan Cheese
Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese to the skillet, stirring continuously until the cheese has melted completely and the sauce is smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
- 5
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta evenly with the Alfredo sauce. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
- 6
Serve
Remove from heat and serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley if desired. Enjoy your creamy fettuccine Alfredo!
