Pecan Konafe

Honey Ice Cream

Method

Pecan Konafe

  1. 1

    Prepare the Kataifi Dough

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, separate the kataifi dough strands with your fingers and loosen them up. Melt the butter and mix it with the kataifi dough until evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Combine Pecans and Sugar

In a separate bowl, mix chopped pecans, sugar, and cinnamon powder. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Konafe

In a greased baking dish, layer half of the kataifi dough evenly at the bottom. Spread the pecan mixture over it, then layer the remaining kataifi dough on top. Drizzle honey over the top layer.

  4. 4

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Roasted Apples

  1. 5

    Prepare the Apples

While the konafe is baking, prepare the apples. In a mixing bowl, combine peeled and sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  2. 6

    Roast the Apples

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the apple mixture and sauté for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and caramelized.

Honey Ice Cream

  1. 7

    Mix the Ice Cream Base

In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, honey, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.

  2. 8

    Chill and Churn

Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

  3. 9

    Freeze

Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
