Method
Preparing the Prawns
- 1
Boil the Prawns
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the peeled and deveined prawns along with salt and lemon juice. Boil for about 3-4 minutes or until the prawns turn pink and opaque.
- 2
Ice Bath
Once cooked, drain the prawns and immediately transfer them to an ice bath (a bowl of ice water) to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for a few minutes, then drain again.
Making the Cocktail Sauce
- 3
Mix Ingredients
In a bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and hot sauce (if using). Stir until well mixed.
Assembling the Dish
- 4
Prepare Serving Dish
On a serving platter or individual cocktail glasses, lay down the lettuce leaves as a bed for the prawns.
- 5
Add Prawns
Arrange the cooled prawns on top of the lettuce leaves.
- 6
Serve with Sauce
Drizzle or serve the cocktail sauce on the side for dipping. Garnish with lemon wedges.
