Lemon Aioli

Method

Prepare the Lemon Aioli

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.

  2. 2

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the aioli and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if desired. Set aside.

Assemble the Sandwich

  1. 3

    Prepare the Ciabatta

Slice the ciabatta bread in half horizontally to create a top and bottom for the sandwich.

  2. 4

    Spread the Aioli

Spread a generous amount of the lemon aioli on both cut sides of the ciabatta.

  3. 5

    Layer the Meats and Vegetables

On the bottom half of the ciabatta, layer the shaved ham, pepperoni, capicola, roasted red peppers, and sliced pepperoncini.

  4. 6

    Add Cheese

Top the layers with slices of provolone cheese.

  5. 7

    Close the Sandwich

Place the top half of the ciabatta over the filled bottom half to complete the sandwich.

Toast the Sandwich

  1. 8

    Heat a Pan

Preheat a skillet or pan over medium heat. You can add a little olive oil if desired.

  2. 9

    Grill the Sandwich

Place the sandwich in the skillet and press down slightly with a spatula. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Serve

  1. 10

    Slice and Serve

Once toasted and golden, remove the sandwich from the pan, slice it in half, and serve immediately with any remaining lemon aioli on the side.
