Method

Slider

1

Warm the pulled pork

Place 1/4 cup of pre-cooked pulled pork in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of water to keep moist. Heat over low on the stove for 3–4 minutes, stirring once, or microwave on high for 30–45 seconds until hot. Ensure pork reaches a safe temperature (165°F/74°C). Drain any excess liquid.

2

Mix with BBQ sauce

Stir 1 tablespoon of mild BBQ sauce into the warmed pulled pork until evenly coated. Taste and add a little more sauce if desired (keep mild for kids).

3

Toast the bun

Lightly butter the inside of the mini slider bun with 1/2 teaspoon softened butter. Toast the bun in a skillet over medium heat for 30–45 seconds per side until golden, or place under a broiler for 1–2 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning.

4

Assemble the slider

Place the toasted bottom bun on a plate. Spoon the sauced pulled pork onto the bun (about 1/4 cup). Top with one optional pickle slice for a mild tang, then cover with the top bun. Serve immediately.

Side

5

Cook fries

If using frozen fries, cook according to package instructions (typically bake at 425°F/220°C for 12–18 minutes) until golden and crisp. If using fresh fries, toss 1/2 cup cut potatoes with 1/2 teaspoon oil and a pinch of salt; bake at 425°F/220°C for 18–25 minutes, turning once, until tender and golden. For quicker service, air-fry at 400°F/200°C for 8–12 minutes, shaking basket halfway.

6

Portion and serve

Place cooked fries in a small kids' side cup or on the plate. Add 1 teaspoon of ketchup in a dipping ramekin or on the plate.

Drink

7

Prepare beverage

Pour 6 oz of apple juice (or selected kids' beverage) into a small cup. Add 1–2 ice cubes if desired. Serve with a straw or child-friendly cup lid if needed.
