Method

Serve

  1. 1

    Chilled bottle

Keep the bottled water chilled in a refrigerator or ice bucket until ready to serve. For best taste, store still water at 2–8°C (36–46°F) and sparkling water similarly to retain carbonation.

  2. 2

    Prepare glass

If using a glass, rinse it briefly with cold water. Add ice cubes if desired (do not add ice to sparkling water if you want to preserve carbonation as long as possible).

  3. 3

    Open bottle

Remove cap or seal from the selected bottle. For sparkling water, open slowly and slightly tilt the bottle away from people to control fizz and reduce overflow.

  4. 4

    Pour

Pour still or sparkling water into the prepared glass, filling to about 3/4 full to avoid spills. If serving directly from the bottle, simply present the bottle with the cap removed or partially unscrewed.

  5. 5

    Garnish (optional)

Add a lemon or lime wedge on the rim of the glass or squeeze a small amount into the water if desired. Place a cocktail straw if preferred.

  6. 6

    Serve

Place the glass or bottle on a coaster or small plate and serve immediately while chilled. Replace the bottle cap if remaining water is to be stored; refrigerate unused water.
