Cooking Instructions
Cook the Penne Pasta
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Vodka Sauce
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add Tomato Sauce and Vodka
Pour in the tomato sauce and vodka, stirring to combine. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes to cook off some of the alcohol.
Incorporate Cream and Peas
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Add the fresh peas and simmer for an additional 3-4 minutes until the peas are tender.
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta evenly in the sauce. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Serve
Serve the penne vodka hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
