Cornbread
Honey Butter
Method
Cornbread
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish or an 8-inch round cake pan.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter until smooth.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix, as this will lead to a dense cornbread.
- 5
Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 6
Cool
Remove the cornbread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Honey Butter
- 7
Prepare Honey Butter
In a small bowl, beat the unsalted butter until creamy. Add the honey and mix until fully combined and smooth.
