Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brownie Base

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract. Gradually mix in the flour until just combined. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  2. 2

    Make the Whipped Cream

While the brownies are baking, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form. Set aside in the refrigerator.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Truckee River Mud

Once the brownies are done baking, let them cool slightly. Cut the brownies into squares and place one square on each serving plate. Top with a Klondike bar, drizzle with caramel and chocolate sauce, and finish with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Garnish with chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder.
