Tri-Tip Marinade and Grilling

Method

Marinade and Grilling Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and red wine vinegar. Mix well to form a marinade.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Tri-Tip

Place the tri-tip roast in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring it is evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to a medium-high heat, approximately 400°F (200°C).

  4. 4

    Grill the Tri-Tip

Remove the tri-tip from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the tri-tip on the grill and cook for about 8-10 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C).

  5. 5

    Rest and Slice

Once cooked, remove the tri-tip from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain into thin strips. Serve hot.
