Method

Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and eggs until well combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Prepare for Baking

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

Galaxy Swirl Preparation

  1. 6

    Make the Cream Cheese Mixture

In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix until fully incorporated.

  2. 7

    Add Heavy Cream

Slowly add the heavy cream to the cream cheese mixture and beat until it becomes light and fluffy.

  3. 8

    Color the Mixture

Divide the cream cheese mixture into three separate bowls. Add blue food coloring to one, purple to another, and pink to the last, mixing until you achieve desired colors.

  4. 9

    Swirl the Colors

Dollop spoonfuls of each colored cream cheese mixture onto the batter in the baking pan. Use a skewer or knife to swirl the colors together to create a galaxy effect.

Baking

  1. 10

    Bake the Cake

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  2. 11

    Cool the Cake

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
