Glass and Garnish

Method

Glass and Garnish

1

Chill glass (optional)

Place the glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water for 2–3 minutes, then discard the water. This step keeps the drink colder longer but can be skipped if glass is already cold.

2

Fill the chilled or room-temperature glass about 2/3 full with fresh ice cubes (about 1 cup).

3

Pour Coke Zero

Open a chilled 12 fl oz can or pour from a bottle. Hold the glass at a slight angle and slowly pour the Coke Zero down the side to preserve carbonation and minimize foaming. Fill to within ~1/2 inch of the rim.

4

If desired, garnish: squeeze a lime wedge over the drink and drop it into the glass, and/or tuck a small mint sprig into the ice for aroma.

5

Provide a long spoon or straw for stirring/sipping. Serve immediately so the beverage remains fizzy and cold.

Tools

6

Use the long spoon to gently stir once if you've added lime or muddled mint, otherwise avoid stirring to preserve carbonation. Use the straw for sipping if preferred.
