Tuna Tartare

Tostada Base

Method

Tuna Tartare

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Finely dice the sushi-grade tuna and place it in a medium bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

Add soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, chopped green onions, chopped cilantro, salt, and black pepper to the tuna. Mix gently until well combined.

  3. 3

    Prep the Avocado

Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Mash it lightly with a fork and set aside.

Salsa Macha

  1. 4

    Prepare the Chiles

Remove the stems and seeds from the dried chiles. Soak them in hot water for 10 minutes until softened.

  2. 5

    Blend the Salsa

In a blender, combine the soaked chiles, garlic cloves, olive oil, and salt. Blend until smooth. Add vinegar and blend briefly to combine.

Tostada Base

  1. 6

    Fry the Tortillas

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry each corn tortilla for about 30-45 seconds on each side until crispy. Drain on paper towels.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Tostadas

On each crispy tostada, spread a layer of mashed avocado, followed by a generous scoop of the tuna tartare mixture. Drizzle with salsa macha for an added kick.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately, garnished with additional cilantro or lime wedges if desired.
