For the Shrimp & Pork Mixture

Method

Preparing the Shrimp & Pork Mixture

  1. 1

    Chop Shrimp

Finely chop the peeled and deveined shrimp and place it in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

Add the ground pork, minced garlic, grated ginger, finely chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper to the bowl with the shrimp. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  3. 3

    Chill Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for about 15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Preparing the Toast

  1. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. 5

    Prepare Baguette

Slice the baguette into 1-inch thick slices. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice.

  3. 6

    Toast the Baguette

Place the buttered baguette slices on a baking sheet, buttered side up, and toast in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.

  4. 7

    Add Shrimp & Pork Mixture

Remove the toasted baguette from the oven and carefully spoon the shrimp and pork mixture onto the toasted side of each slice.

  5. 8

    Final Bake

Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until the shrimp and pork mixture is cooked through and slightly golden on top.

Serving

  1. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve warm with chili sauce on the side for dipping.
