Method

Puff Pastry Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Puff Pastry

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth any creases. Sprinkle the granulated sugar evenly on the surface of the pastry.

  3. 3

    Shape the Palmiers

Starting at one edge, roll the pastry tightly towards the center until you reach the middle. Repeat with the other edge, so both rolls meet in the center. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  4. 4

    Slice the Palmiers

After chilling, remove the pastry from the refrigerator and slice it into 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) thick pieces.

  5. 5

    Bake the Palmiers

Place the sliced palmiers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each piece. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and caramelized.

Vanilla Glaze Preparation

  1. 6

    Make the Glaze

In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.

  2. 7

    Glaze the Palmiers

Once the palmiers are baked and cooled slightly, drizzle the vanilla glaze over them. Allow the glaze to set before serving.
