Method

Hummus Base

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chickpeas

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water.

  2. 2

    Blend the Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, salt, cayenne pepper, and water. Blend until smooth.

  3. 3

    Adjust Consistency

If the hummus is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.

Spicy Cucumbers

  1. 4

    Prepare the Cucumber

Slice the cucumber into thin rounds.

  2. 5

    Mix the Spices

In a bowl, combine the cucumber slices with red chili flakes, salt, lemon juice, and olive oil. Toss to coat evenly.

  3. 6

    Let it Marinate

Allow the cucumbers to sit for at least 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Crispy Chickpeas

  1. 7

    Prepare the Chickpeas

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

  2. 8

    Season and Bake

Toss the chickpeas with olive oil, salt, and paprika. Spread them on a baking sheet.

  3. 9

    Bake until Crispy

Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden and crispy, shaking the pan halfway through.

Serving

  1. 10

    Assemble the Dish

Serve the hummus in a bowl topped with crispy chickpeas. Arrange the spicy cucumbers and laffa bread on the side for dipping.
