Base Syrup

Soda Water

Garnish (optional)

Method

Make Base Syrup

  1. 1

    Prepare Ingredients

Wash the fresh lemons, limes, grapefruit, and ginger. Cut lemons, limes, and grapefruit in half and juice them. Grate the ginger.

  2. 2

    Combine Sugar and Water

In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and 2 cups of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  3. 3

    Add Juices and Ginger

Once the sugar is dissolved, add the lemon juice, lime juice, grapefruit juice, and grated ginger to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.

  4. 4

    Simmer the Syrup

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.

  5. 5

    Strain the Syrup

Once cooled, strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean container to remove the ginger and pulp. Store the syrup in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Assemble the Soda

  1. 6

    Prepare Glasses

Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.

  2. 7

    Mix Soda

Pour 1/4 cup of the prepared syrup over the ice in the glass. Top with 1 cup of carbonated water and stir gently to combine.

  3. 8

    Add Garnish

If desired, garnish with fresh mint leaves, a slice of lemon, and a slice of lime.

  4. 9

    Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing house-made soda!
