Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix the Crust Ingredients

In a medium mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand.

  3. 3

    Form the Crust

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even layer. Use a measuring cup or your fingers to pack it tightly.

  4. 4

    Bake the Crust

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Cream Cheese

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy.

  2. 6

    Add Sugar and Sour Cream

Gradually add 1 cup of granulated sugar and mix until well combined. Then add the sour cream and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

  3. 7

    Incorporate Eggs

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition until just combined. Do not overmix.

  4. 8

    Add Flour

Sprinkle the all-purpose flour into the mixture and gently fold it in until just combined.

Baking the Cheesecake

  1. 9

    Pour the Filling

Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan, spreading it evenly.

  2. 10

    Bake the Cheesecake

Bake the cheesecake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the edges are set, and the center is slightly jiggly.

  3. 11

    Cool the Cheesecake

Turn off the oven, crack the oven door, and let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour to prevent cracking.

  4. 12

    Chill Before Serving

Remove the cheesecake from the oven and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before serving.
