Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and brown sugar until well combined.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Melt Butter

In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  2. 4

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, vanilla extract, and eggs. Whisk until smooth and well combined. Then stir in the milk.

  3. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  4. 6

    Add Optional Ingredients

If desired, fold in chocolate chips and chopped nuts at this stage.

Baking

  1. 7

    Pour into Pan

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

  2. 8

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  3. 9

    Cool and Serve

Once baked, allow the brownies to cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
