Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Asparagus

Trim the ends of the asparagus and blanch them in salted boiling water for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the skillet, drain on paper towels, and crumble it into pieces.

  3. 3

    Make the Honey Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the honey and Tabasco sauce until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Baguette

Slice the French baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices. Arrange them on a baking sheet.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Crostini

Top each slice of baguette with a slice of brie cheese, a few pieces of asparagus, and crumbled bacon. Drizzle the honey butter mixture generously over the top.

  6. 6

    Bake the Crostini

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the assembled crostini for about 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove from the oven and serve warm as an appetizer.
